Elena Shapovalenko

Dear prospective students!

Thank you for turning to my page. Since you are reading this you are hooked on English just like me!

My other ‘passions’ include history, which is why I love telling foreigners about the beauty of our city and our culture. Watching British BBC films and movies in the original English version gives me another sort of delight. I am chuffed to bits when I go to theatrical performances and concerts of my favorite artists. No holiday will pass for me without a classic English novel and brushing up on German and Italian, which I am so fond of!

What my students always bring me is their warmth of conversation and giggly moments that turn into bouts of laughter. There’s nothing I like better than learning new things and having fun. If that’s your notion of getting to know the ‘Wonderland’ of the English language I’d love to make your acquaintance in class.

I’m looking forward to seeing you cheery faces.

Every time, when visitors from Great Britain meet Elena for the first time, they ask her only one question: «What part of England are you from?» And then they learn to their great surprise that Elena was born and learned her English in Kyiv.

Usually, people with such skills are thought of as having a God-given talent. And besides her natural talent for languages, Elena works a lot and hard, constantly develops her skills and extends her knowledge in the cultural heritage of Great Britain.

Owing to her strong bearing and a sophisticated genius Elena is known in our school as the «treasury of original royal English language», a true mine of information! With regard to her professional achievements, Elena successfully passed the international Cambridge Advanced Exam, and also the course of upgrading the qualification of teaching English in Oxford.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Cambridge English CAE (Certificate of Advanced English)
  • Cambridge English TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test)
  • Cambridge English CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
  • Simultaneous interpreter
  • Cambridge English Examiner
